Environmentalists protest against Nord Stream 2 pipeline
Environmental activists could be allies for the Polish government in protesting against Nord Stream 2, as they oppose Russia leading the pipeline through the Kurgalsky nature reserve, in the Gulf of Finland region.

The area is protected by both Russian and international environmental legislation because it is the habitat of many rare and endangered species.
However, some experts say the Polish government does not treat environmentalists as an ally in this cause.
