The stage version of Władysław memoirs is being created by a team of US writers, directors and producers.

Interviewed for Radio Poland, Emily Mann, an acclaimed director and playwright, said: “One of the biggest decisions I made was to not have the audience see the graphic design of what was going on in the [Warsaw Jewish] ghetto; that they hear it and then they hear about it from the man who plays Władysław Szpilman as he speaks in his own words from the memoir”.

Emily Mann is in her 27th season as artistic director of McCarter Theater in Princeton, New Jersey.
