Polish PM wants EU to step in over Nord Stream 2
Speaking on Thursday at a summit in Brussels, Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło appealed to the European Union to talk to Russia about the contentious Nord Stream 2 pipeline plan.

The pipeline to supply Germany with gas from Russia via the Baltic Sea has been opposed by Poland and other countries in the region.
“Above all, we expect the European Commission to be given a mandate for the EU-Russia negotiations on Nord Stream 2. For Poland, the political aspect of this investment is unquestionable, but there are countries that claim this is only a business undertaking,” Szydło said.
