Since its official premiere in the summer, Loving Vincent has already grossed millions in box office receipts, won awards and gained international audiences. Now another honour was added to the pool: Bobbitt, the CEO of BreakThru Films and a co-producer of the film, was recognised as Top Expat Entrepreneur of the Year during the FDI Poland Investor Awards Gala in Warsaw.

Directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, Loving Vincent is the world’s first fully painted feature film. It tells the story of the life and mysterious death of the painter Vincent van Gogh. The film took six years to make. Each of its 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 125 painters.

Earlier this year, the film won the Audience Award at the International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France. It has also been nominated for the 2017 European Film Academy Award in the "Animated Feature Film" category, with the awards ceremony to be held on December 9 in Berlin.

"It is a tough award to accept because Loving Vincent was basically made by hundreds of people,” Bobbitt told Radio Poland. “I am glad I had an important part in it. At the end of the day we had 125 painters from 20 countries. It was Dorota Kobiela who had the first idea for a short film. I am just happy that we could help make that short film idea into an international feature film."
