Polish president launched Poland's two-year stint on UN Security Council
President Andrzej Duda officially opened Poland's two-year stint on the Security Council by participating in an open debate at United Nations in New York on Thursday.

The Council is one of five principal organs of the UN, tasked with the maintenance of international peace and security.
Kazakhstan, which currently holds its rotating presidency, set non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the situation in Afghanistan as its priorities.
