The European Parliament has voted to end geo-blocking, the practice of limiting access to websites and online services based on customers' location, which affects most Poles.

The European Union considers geo-blocking to be a form of discrimination based on customers' nationality or place of residence.
The European Parliament on Tuesday voted through legislation to put an end to most cross-border discrimination of online buyers.

“Thanks to the new law, each of us will feel a substantial change for the better… No more refusal to sell goods or services online because of the place of residence or nationality of the customer … no more refusal to sell depending on the country where the credit card was issued,” said Polish MEP Róża Thun, the rapporteur of the bill.
