  • Ukrainians uninterested in permanent stay in Poland: report
Due to cultural similarities and linguistic proximity, many Polish companies seek workers from beyond the country’s eastern border, chiefly Ukrainians.

According to some estimates, Poland has up to 1 million Ukrainian citizens on its labour market at the moment.

However, a new report shows that only one in 10 of them would like to stay in Poland permanently.

To find out more, Michał Owczarek on Tuesday talked to employment experts at the announcement of Poland’s new “Economic Immigration Survey.”

“[Ukrainians] have the right to work [in Poland] for no longer than six months in a given year, so they are forced to return to their own country and wait another half a year until they can come back again to Poland,” said Łukasz Kozłowski, chief economist for the Employers of Poland organisation.
