Local campaign to tackle smog
While the problem of smog is getting more and more serious in Poland, local governments are searching for efficient means to counteract the phenomenon. The south-eastern town of Dębica has recently declared its own war on smog.
“It’s commonly known that word of mouth spreads the best, that’s why we are trying to educate as many people as possible,” said Patrycja Krupka, Dębica local administration officer.

But those who dare can couple religious experience with extreme hiking, covering several dozen kilometers at night and in silence, stopping at the Stations of the Cross to say a short prayer. That is the Extreme Way Of The Cross, an unforgettable experience for many Poles in the country and abroad.

"Last year we found out that the Extreme Way is a breakthrough experience as people who enter it leave their comfort zone and open up to a new life," said Father Jacek Stryczek, who masterminded the project.
