Poland marks Radio Day

Radio Day in Poland was marked on April 11, underlining the importance of radio which, despite severe competition, is still a favourite source of information.
Though World Radio Day is celebrated in February, April 11 is important to the history of radio in Poland since it was on that in 1923 that the Association of Polish Radio Technicians adopted a document which laid the foundation for the country's future broadcasting laws.
The first trial broadcast came two years later on February 1, 1925, while Polish Radio regular broadcasting started on April 18, 1926.
