  • A TRIP TO WROCLAW AFRYKARIUM
Located in the centre of the capital of Lower Silesia, it is the oldest zoo complex in Poland - turned 150 in 2015 - and one of the oldest in Europe.
It houses over 10 thousand animals - ranging from the tiniest ones like the cockroaches to the largest ones like the elephants, among them one of the world's rarest creatures - manatees - all on the area of over 33 hectars.
It latest addition, and according to many the biggest attraction is Afrykarium - Poland's first oceanarium. Roughly 5 000 animals are housed in it, mainly fish, including seven species of sharks. Amazing manatees, Nile hippos, aardvarks, naked mole-rats, and dozens of free-flying birds can also be found here. A visit to Afrykarium is a two-hour tour of Africa in the heart of Europe. Join DI on a tour of the Africarium, as she walks past the beaches of the Red Sea, admires the underwater life of the Nile in East Africa, immerses (with many WOWs) deep into the abyss of the Mozambique Channel, tries to locate some South African fur seals at the Skeleton Coast and walks in 60% humidity through the Congo Rainforest
