Speaking at the opening of the event on Saturday, Duda said trade between Poland and Georgia grew by a third in recent years.

He added that there was potential for greater collaboration. However, certain conditions needed to be met first, he said, naming security and peace as well as social cohesion as most crucial for growth.

Meanwhile, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who also took the floor on Saturday, called Georgia "a gateway between Europe and Asia."

To find out more about bilateral trade opportunities, Danuta Isler spoke to Stanisław Raźniewski, co-founder and president of the Polish-Georgian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Founded in January by 20 companies, the chamber has already doubled its membership and has an ambitious aim of becoming a bilateral business platform.
