Imposing tariffs on European steel and aluminium, leaving the Iran Deal and trying to reintegrate Russia into the G7 - these are just some of the recent examples of a very different approach to the world problems that the United States have, as opposed to Europe. Are Americans and Europeans drifting apart for good or can the Transatlantic Alliance still be saved? Magdalena Skajewska put the question to Karen Donfried, director of the German Marshall Fund of the US.
