Sixteen films are in the running for Poland's coveted Golden Lion award as the Polish Film Festival starts in the northern town of Gdynia this week.

Awards will also be given out in the Short Film and Another Look categories, while a special event will focus attention on the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, which is being celebrated throughout 2018.

Danuta Isler spoke to Maja Wagner, who heads Gdynia's Commission of Culture, to find out more about the city's efforts to become known as film city.
