EU, US officials join Poland in slamming new Russian pipeline
The European Parliament on Wednesday adopted a resolution that calls for the planned Russo-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to be aborted amid concerns over Europe’s growing energy dependence on Moscow.

The project has been long opposed by Poland and other countries in the region.
“Poland is interested in persuading other nations that Nord Stream 2 represents not only a detriment to the European economy, but also a danger to regional stability as it generates more opportunities to put pressure on countries of the region,” said Krzysztof Szczerski, an aide to the Polish president.
