Some analysts predict that the eurozone may become a hard core of European integration and that states outside of it can be marginalised.

Ahead of an electoral marathon, Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party has said ‘no’ to the euro, arguing Warsaw should only adopt the common currency when it benefits the country’s economy.

“We will adopt the euro because we are obliged to do so by the Accession Treaty … but we will do so only if it is in our interest,” said Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

This will be when Poland “reaches the level of living standards and GDP similar to Germany’s,” Kaczyński added.
