Roxana decadently bald and in a flowing red dress, crushed against a statuesque Shepherd with gold-leaf skin, amid blood-spattered Bacchantes... Marie-Jeanne Lecca designed the costumes for the production of Karol Szymanowski's opera "King Roger" staged by David Pountney, which grandly opened Poland's term of rotating EU presidency on July 1, 2011.
