The Polish Radio Science Picnic, in conjunction with the Copernicus Science Centre, is an annual event dedicated to making science and technology fun and accessible to everyone, from the Marszałka Rydza-Śmigłego Park in Warsaw.

The picnic hosted around 200 tents exhibiting examples of the application of science from astronomy, biology, ecology, electronics, physics and much, much more.

The theme at this year's Polish Radio Science Picnic was “energy”.

On Dateline Warsaw this week we have two experts to discuss, what some see as, controversial new initiatives in the energy sphere that Poland is embarking on: nuclear energy and shale gas.

In the studio with us are MIROSŁAW LEWIŃSKI, Deputy Director at the Department for Atomic Energy, Economy Ministry; and TOMASZ CHMAL energy expert at the Sobieski Institute.
