Deputy PM voices need for "new euro" at European Economic Congress. Katowice correspondent Jarosław Juszkiewicz reports.
At the ongoing European Economic Congress in Katowice, Poland's deputy PM and economy minister, Waldemar Pawlak has voiced that maybe the EU should go back to the idea of a clearing currency such as the Ecu.
The idea is not to the liking of European Commissioner in charge of the bloc's budget, Janusz Lewandowski, who tells our correspondent in Katowice Jarosław Juszkiewicz that "we should have better scenarios", adding that a "retreat toward the Ecu will not solve the problem of the huge comfort of traveling in Europe and doing easy business within the EU, which the Euro provides."
