Rafal Matejczyk will be spending about nine hours a day in a special racing KTM X-BOW vehicle.

The car has an acceleration comparable to a Ferrari and is designed to drive in extreme conditions.

Matejczyk wants to send out the message: “Stop drunk drivers." And says the aim of his trip is to show that despite many temptations, it is possible to drive without drinking.

Organizers of the event stress that driving under the influence is not worth thinking twice about.

“Remember, never get behind the wheel after drinking even one or two beers. Just ask your friends to drive you home, or just choose another method of transportation,” said Adam Kozłowski, an organizer of the Europe Trip.

Matejczyk departed from Radom, a town 100 km from Warsaw, on Sunday.

Each day, Matejczyk will have to drive from 500 to 700 km travelling through Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. (vj/pg)
