The fire at the huge Chinese Trade Center - the largest distribution point in Central Europe for products made in China, taking up a space of 200 thousand sq. meters – broke out at around 5 pm local time, police say.
No casualties have been reported.
Captain Mieczysław Pekala from the local fire service say that they deployed around 200 firefighters to control the blaze which had taken hold in a 5,000 square metres of the warehouses, containing textiles, and a roof has collapsed.
Fire broke out in the same complex of warehouses in 2009 and then again in 2011. (pg)
