The parade began on Sunday at Plac Bankowy (Bank Square) and proceeded down Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Swiat streets through the centre of the capital on Sunday, in a street festival which has become an annual summer event in Warsaw since it was first staged in 2007.

“We want to create a space in which artists can express themselves and present their cultures from many different perspectives, including food, art and dance,” Zuzanna Dłużniewska from the Warsaw Continent – Warsaw of Many Cultures NGO which organises the parade told the PAP news agency.

The multicultural festival is funded by Warsaw local government. (pg)
