Government wins confidence vote

PM Donald Tusk's centre-right government won a vote of confidence in parliament last night following his policy statement promising billions in investment for a weakening economy.

The government won the vote with 233 MPs from the Civic Platform (PO)/Polish Peasants Party (PSL) coalition voting for, 219 against with one abstention.
Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of Law and Justice (PiS) the largest opposition party in parliament, said the government “should be dismissed, not because they don;t keep their promises but because they perform well below a minimum standard”.
