Engine failure forces Lufthansa plane into emergency landing

A Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt was forced to return to Katowice's Pyrzowice airport in south west Poland, Tuesday morning, and make an emergency landing after engine failure.

The incident occurred after the plane took off at 6.28 CET.
“Shortly after take off the captain reported that he had serious problems with the right side engine and asked for assistance when landing,” Cezary Orzech, a spokesman for Katowice airport has said.
“Ambulance services, fire brigade and police were at the airport [when the plane landed]. This is normal procedure in such cases. At 6.54 CET the plane landed safely, no one was hurt,” he said.
Sixty three passengers were on board plus four crew members. (pg)
