Temperatures are set to reach 36 degrees Celsius is some parts of the country in the warmest weather in years hits Poland.

On Friday, temperatures exceeded 30 degrees in the west of the country but the mercury will climb to show even hotter temperatures over the weekend.
Temperatures could reach 34 degrees in Lower Silesia and Wielkopolska in southern Poland, with 30 to 32 degrees set to be recorded on Saturday in central regions, including Warsaw.
It will get even hotter on Sunday, with 36 degrees expected to be recorded in the shade in the south west.
"It could be unbearable at nights,” Malgorzata Tomczyk at the National Meteorological Centre says.
The hottest temperature ever recorded in Poland was in 1921, when thermometers climbed in Prószków in the Opole province to 40.2 degrees Celsius.
Thirty nine degrees in the shade was also recorded in 1994 in Słubice, Lubusz province, western Poland. (pg)
