Ministries evacuated after bomb scare

At least 4000 people were evacuated from Polish ministries on Friday morning after email warnings were received that bombs had been planted in the buildings.

The evacuees included about 2400 employees from two buildings belonging to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, police have confirmed.
Further evacuations were made at the Defence Ministry and the Economy Ministry, police spokesman Mariusz Mrozek revealed.
According to Mrozek, the email warnings were received early on Friday morning.
Officers from the Military Police have been carrying out checks on the buildings concerned.
Similar warnings were received at the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, although there were no evacuations there. (nh)
