Poles are feared to be among nine people who died, with up to 40 injured, when several buses crashed on a highway near the eastern German city of Dresden, Saturday morning.

According to initial information, a Polish coach crashed into a bus from Ukraine. Local police spokesman Lutz Zoellner said the crash on the A4 motorway happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday and involved two Polish buses, one from the Sindbad coach company, and a Ukrainian bus.
Details of the identities of the dead remained unclear, early Saturday morning.
“The identity and nationality of victims is not yet precisely known,” Polish vice-consul in Berlin, Michał Bolewski has told Polish Radio. (pg)
