Five die in horrific HGV – car collision

Five people died when a Volkswagen Golf collided with a HGV lorry near Slupsk, in the Pomeranian province, Tuesday morning.

Local police spokesman Robert Czerwiński has told Polish Radio that two women and three men were travelling in the passenger car when it was struck by the lorry near the town of Nowa Dąbrowa.
The lorry driver was also injured in the collision on National Road 6 and is now in hospital.
"The force of the collision was so great that both the car and lorry were thrown across the road and hit a tree,” the police spokesman said. (pg)
