At night, temperatures have been falling well below zero, but Sunday saw sunny weather, creating agreeable conditions for hikers.

Nevertheless, tourists heading into the mountains are advised by members of the Tatra Voluntary Rescue Service (TOPR) to remain up to date on avalanche warnings, with risks common at this time of year.

Likewise, TOPR notes that torches are essential for hikers planning extended trekst. However, shorter excursions are more recommended and winter clothing is already a must. (nh)
