The latest theft occurred in Jablonka at about 7.40 am on Thursday, with two masked men apparently stealing 200,000 zloty (47,300 euro) from the bureau de change.

Police spokesman Roman Wolski has said the suspects fled the scene in a navy blue van, aided by a third party.

According to Wolski, the thieves had apparently threatened to spray a man working in the bureau de change with gas.

The theft comes after a man working at a bureau de change in Bochnia was shot dead on Monday evening.

The assailant apparently stole about 100,000 zloty (23,700 euro) from the victim. The attacker also shot the man's female companion before escaping, but she survived. (nh)
