Poland marks All Saints' Day

Poles are making the yearly visit to graves of loved ones this weekend in celebration of All Saints' Day on 1 November, a national holiday in Poland.
Special church services are being held to commemorate the saints throughout the country, with families laying flowers and lighting candles at gravesides.
The tradition continues through to All Souls’ Day, on November 2.
As every year, actors, journalists and celebrities are at Warsaw's Powązki cemetery, the capital's most prestigious burial place, to raise money for the upkeep of the graves and tombs.
The fund raising drive is now in its 40th year, and the cemetery is resting place of notables Poles such as Nobel prize-winning novelist Waldyslaw Reymont, composer Stanislaw Moniuszko, Irenas Sendlerr, famous for helping Jews during Nazi-occupied Warsaw in WWII and film director Krzysztof Kieślowski.
