“So far, the prime minister has taken a decision in terms of two individuals – Beata Malecka-Libera, whose work will be centered on the law on public health, and Urszula Augustyn who will be tasked with implementing the regulation on safety in schools,” Sulik said.

The two new officials will be running tasks stemming from the government head’s October parliamentary address.

As the spokesperson assured, the plenipotentiaries are to collaborate with relevant ministries and would not interfere with their work.

Decisions are still pending in the case of two other plenipotentiaries.

Meanwhile, two names have been mentioned in the media: Elzbieta Pierzchala is said to be charged with distributing funds for the Polish railways in the Infrastructure Ministry, while Krystyna Skowronska is speculated to become a plenipotentiary in the Treasury Ministry.

Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz stressed that the officials to be appointed for the posts would be experienced and would have to fulfill their mission within the next 11 months, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary ballot in 2015.

The news comes after seven deputy ministers were dismissed in the Health, Sports and Infrastructure Ministries. As Kopacz explained, the layoffs were the result of a review of ministries which began on 20 October.
