Prosecutors in the central city of Plock have opened an investigation into a number of marijuana plants which were found to be growing on the premises of the police station in the city.

It is reported that the plants were growing in the vicinity of the police dog kennels.

Currently it has not been ascertained who planted the marijuana and whether it was planted on purpose.

The plants were discovered in September after the police had moved into their new headquarters in the city, with the marijuana found growing in an area officially belonging to the Central Investigation Bureau.

Prosecutors have been looking into the case since October, with the police also conducting an internal probe into the matter. Police officers with access to the area have also been questioned.

Police in Plock have so far declined to comment, waiting for prosecutors to first complete their own investigations. (jb)
