The 1st All-Polish Walruses Carnival Night, as the event was dubbed, drew enthusiasts of all ages to the lake in northern Poland.

The lake, which covers 2.3 square km, is often referred to as ''the Pearl of Warmia.''

Winter swimming clubs are increasingly common in Poland. There are currently about 100 across the country. (nh)
