It is believed that the bodies are those of two tourists who failed to return to a mountain shelter on Saturday night.

The bodies were found by members of the Tatra Voluntary Rescue Service (TOPR), who had been looking for the pair since 5am on Sunday morning.

One woman died and another remains in hospital with acute hypothermia after being caught in a separate avalanche elsewhere in the Tatras on Saturday. (nh)
