“The reception by the voters is very warm. I thank [them] for it,” Ogórek told reporters on Wednesday.

When asked to assess her chances of winning, she replied: “I do not know how to lose.”

The 36-year old historian also commented on media accusations that she is simply a “Barbie candidate”, who is trying to win over the electorate with her good looks. To this, she said, that she is “used to the being called different names during this campaign. [...] There will surely be some others.”

SLD leader Leszek Miller also said that the party council has a very positive opinion of the first leg of the campaign.

Meanwhile, in related developments, current President Bronisław Komorowski has set off on his re-election campaign by travelling by coach through various parts of the country to meet members of the community.

The presidential election has been slated for 10 May. (rg)
