The police were called to a voting station in Płock in central Poland, with a report that one of the polling officers on duty was drunk.

He was given a breathalyser test and sent home.

The test showed that he had 0.08 percent of alcohol in his system. The legal blood-alcohol driving limit in Poland is 0.02 percent.

The man admitted that he had consumed alcohol the previous evening.

According to the TVN24 broadcaster, the police said that the man “had already handed out three ballot sheets, and done it properly.”

The man could face legal repercussions because he was drunk on the job – a legal offence in Poland. (rg)
