The houses, mostly located in the Zawarcie district of the city, range from 22 m2 to 67 m2 and all require urgent repairs. The estimated cost of renovation for a house ranges from PLN 18,000 (EUR 4,340) to PLN 60,000 (EUR 14,470).

Ewa Sadowska-Cieślak, a spokesperson for the city authorities, explained that “The offer is designed for people who are not able to buy their own house but can afford to pay for the repairs.”

The cost of the renovations will not be reimbursed and occupants will have to agree to undertake these repairs before being awarded the housing. (sl/rg)
