The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has already issued a third-degree warning – the highest possible in Poland – from Friday until Wednesday.

“In case of heat waves, their duration is crucial,” explained meteorologist Grażyna Dąbrowska. Temperatures in the above 30 degrees will begin on Friday in the Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie, Lower Silesia and Opole regions.

More warnings for other areas of the country will be issued in due course. (rg)
