The thieves stole about PLN 200,000 from the bank on Tuesday after intimidating staff.

Both men sported dark suits, white shirts, sun glasses and black wigs, in a style akin to that of the bank robbers in cult Hollywood film 'Reservoir Dogs'.

The suspects are believed to be aged between 25 and 30.

They made their getaway in a car, but police were unable to trace the vehicle, which has been described variously as a silver or grey Daewoo, Opel or Ford.

One man was wrongly detained after being seen to be carrying a suspicious amount of banknotes. Another two were stopped after they apparently tried to flee a police road block.

However, after questioning, it transpired that none of the suspects had any connection with the crime. (nh/rk)
