Driver dies in bus crash of Polish Amazon staff

The driver of a bus carrying Amazon staff to work died on Tuesday, following a crash near Wrocław, south west Poland.

“The vehicles which transport our staff belong to an external company with whom we cooperate,” commented Marzena Więckowska, a spokesman for Amazon.
“We already know that the vehicle which drove our staff was in good working order,” she claimed.
“The reason for the accident was most likely the driver fainting.”
Thirteen Amazon employees required medical assistance of the nineteen passengers on the bus.
The driver died shortly after being transported to hospital.
At present, the US company maintains two fulfilment centres in Bielany Wrocławskie. Orders from across Europe are processed at the sites, both of which cover 95,000 square metres. (nh)
