Among those who came to Ożarów near Warsaw for the event were Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz, former Israeli Ambassador to Poland Shewah Weiss, as well as politicians and actors.

The prime minister wished Lech Wałęsa good health and a return to active politics, so that he can share his experience and be listened to by those who should do so.”

In the prime minister’s view, if this was the case, everything would look differently.”

Thanking the guests, Lech Wałęsa recalled the achievements of his generation.

“The division of the world and many limitations have been overcome, but this is only half of the task’, Wałęsa said, calling on politicians to work out the principles that would constitute the foundation of Europe.

The party was graced by a performance of the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir under Henryk Wojnarowski. (mk/nh/rk)
