Former foreign minister Grzegorz Schetyna slammed former defence minister Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview on Tuesday with the TVN24 news channel, describing their history in the Civic Platform party.

We established Civic Platform together - I was building the structure of the party, and he replied to emails received by [future PM] Donald Tusk,” Schetyna quipped.

Such were the beginnings of Tomasz Siemoniak in the Civic Platform.”

He was always in the second eleven,” Schetyna continued.

He was never the leader of any project, and never will be,” he added.

It is a question of character. Or lack of it. I have character and I do everything to make it show.”

Siemoniak was quick to respond to the claims.

Emails when the Civic Platform was being created? Perhaps GS was on another 'project',” he wrote on his Twitter account.

I was working at that time as the deputy mayor of Warsaw,” he stressed. (nh/rk)
