The Central Investigation Bureau (CBŚ) of Poland has identified suspects believed to be designated to manufacture explosive devices across Poland.

CBŚ’s counter-terrorism police force simultaneously searched several flats, basements and vehicles belonging to suspects in Katowice (south of Poland), Opole (south), Gdańsk (north), Bydgoszcz (north), Olsztyn (northeast), Szczecin (northwest), Poznań (west central), Łódź (centre), and Warsaw.

“This case is developing,” an unnamed officer of CBŚ informed the IAR news agency on Wednesday.

As a result of the search, six suspects have been prosecuted, while a total of 13 people were arrested.

The counter-terrorist and CBŚ officers secured 3.5 kg of home-made explosives, two kilogrammes of gun powder, nearly a kilogramme of a pyrotechnic mixture, and munitions of various calibres.

Officers discovered eight rifles, a revolver, as well as other weapons.

Illegal dealings associated with the manufacture of explosives are constantly monitored by the CBŚ to combat acts of terror. (ua/rg)
