New head of public broadcaster TVP announced

Deputy Culture Minister Jacek Kurski, a former MP for Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, was Friday appointed as the new head of the country’s public broadcaster TVP.

Meanwhile, journalist and writer Barbara Stanisławczyk was appointed as head of public broadcaster Polish Radio.

The appointments come after Polish President Andrzej Duda Thursday signed into law a media bill that ended the terms of management and supervisory board members of TVP and Polish Radio. (pk/rg)
