Eight people freeze to death in Poland

Eight people have frozen to death over the weekend, according to a statement released by the Government Security Centre.

Temperatures fell to -10 degrees Celsius in many regions across the country on Saturday, causing the deaths of seven people.

On Sunday, a homeless man in Warsaw became the eigth victim thus far.

According to the Government Security Centre, 90 people have died as a result of hypothermia since November.

Weather forecasters have predicted that the first half of next week will be considerably warmer. (nh/pk)
