Five people were hospitalised, with the worst injured being an eight-month-old child who was hit while being pushed by his mother in a stroller.
One of the drivers also sustained serious injuries, while the other has been detained after tests at the hospital showed that he was under the influence of drugs.
Police are investigating whether the event, organised at the city's airport strip by the local motor-racing club, was legally registered. (rg/pk)
