Officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚ) arrested three foreigners – two from Germany and one from Brazil – attempting to cash a forged cheque.

The oldest of them was 75 years old. They are now facing up to 10 years in prison.

CBŚ officers received information about persons who entered a Poznań bank trying to exchange a suspicious check.

The officers determined the check was allegedly issued by the Portuguese branch a major European bank. The police thoroughly checked the document, and confirmed that it was forged. (rg)
