The survey, by pollster CBOS, found that backing for Nowoczesna, the business-friendly party launched last year by prominent economist Ryszard Petru, is up two percentage points compared to two weeks ago, and is now at 18 percent.

CBOS also found that if elections had been held in early April, the centrist Civic Platform party would have scored 13 percent, down one percentage point from the previous survey.

The Civic Platform led a coalition government with the agrarian Polish People's Party for eight years before losing Poland’s October general election.

Meanwhile, the Kukiz' 15 grouping – led by veteran rock star Paweł Kukiz – has seen support drop four percentage points to eight percent.

No other party would cross the five percent threshold needed to enter parliament, the CBOS survey found. (pk)
