Polish President Andrzej Duda on Friday called on EU leaders to maintain unity and to prevent a domino effect after Britons voted in a referendum to leave the EU.

Duda also said an urgent question was why Britons decided to ditch the European Union.
"Is it not the case that the EU imposes too much on countries which belong to it," Duda asked during a press conference in Kraków, southern Poland.
He voiced respect for British Prime Minister David Cameron for taking the decision to hold a referendum.
"It is also a clear signal to EU leaders that in this situation we need to maintain unity and cohesion,” Duda added.
“Secondly, everything must be done to avoid a domino effect so that the publics of other countries do not say they do not want to be members of the European community." (pk)
