Kraków march commemorates Jewish legacy

A march is due to be held in Kraków, southern Poland, on Sunday afternoon to honour the memory of its Jewish residents throughout the city’s history.

The event also aims to underline Poles’ and Jews’ common legacy and to voice disapproval for antisemitism.
A number of Roman Catholic organisations took part in the event’s preparations. Maria Miduch, one of the march’s organisers, said: “It’s an opportunity to manifest solidarity.”
The march is to set out from the historical Collegium Maius courtyard in Kraków Old Town, stopping at six locations that had a significant Jewish presence.
The event ends with a free concert at the Tempel Synagogue in the evening.
